Redwood Parks Lodge Company Launches Redwood Adventures Tours
ORICK, Calif. - August 30, 2007 - As a continuation of its plans to develop an extensive range of lodging and travel services in the California Redwood National and State Parks, Redwood Parks Lodge Company, Inc. today announced the launch of its guided tour company, Redwood Adventures Tours. One of the few companies granted a Tour Services permit to conduct guided tours within the Redwood National and State Parks, Redwood Adventures Tours will provide a range of tour packages designed to cater to the different interests and needs of visitors to the parks.
Redwood National Park was formed in 1968, and in 1994, the National Park Service (NPS) and the California Department of Parks and Recreation entered a cooperative agreement to manage Redwood National Park and three California State Parks (Jedediah Smith Redwoods, Prairie Creek Redwoods and Del Norte Coast Redwoods) as a single unit renamed as Redwood National and State Parks (Redwood Parks).
Redwood Adventures Tours has been given permission to offer five different tour packages within Redwood National and State Parks. These tours range from a one-hour "Orientation Tour" designed to inform visitors on the "who, what, where, why and how " of the parks to a six-hour comprehensive and flexible "Full Day Tour" designed to provide an intimate look at the unique sites found in the four separate parks within Redwood National and State Parks.
"Whether you're a first-time visitor to Redwood National and State Parks or someone who visits the area regularly, taking a guided tour is a great way to relish the amazing beauties and features of the parks," said John "Johnny Redwood" Russavage, chairman and CEO of Redwood Parks Lodge Company. "Our certified tour guides are true park lovers who know Redwood National and State Parks inside out, and they will help make anyone's visit to the park a real treat."
Tour packages range in price from $18 per family or group for the Orientation Tour to $135 per person for the Full Day Tour. Each tour is hosted by a certified Adventure Guide and participants receive an orientation packet for each tour. On the longer tours, a snack, picnic lunch and an interpretive learning packet are also provided.
In celebration of the launch of Redwood Adventures Tours, the company is offering a two-for- one (2-for-1) special on its per person pricing. Each group of two will be charged the price of one person, regardless of the number of people in a family or related group. Special rates are also available for larger groups or tours.
Redwood Adventures Tours is located off Highway 101 at milepost 124 near Orick in Humboldt County, California on Valley Green Camp Road, approximately halfway between Portland, Oregon and San Francisco, California. The tour office is right next to Redwood National and State Parks' Elk Meadow recreation area in the Redwood Adventures Village.

Corsair Charters
The Corsair, an award winning 65' original Biloxi schooner, will take groups of six lucky passengers out for dinner and shrimping on the back bays of the AL Gulf Coast! Feast on the culinary treats of the freshest steamed shrimp and blue crabs, while "hauling in" the catch of the day. Dolphins, dolphins ,and more dolphins will thrill our guests as the wild dolphins frolic right beside the hull of this beautiful, wooden trawler. Bird watchers and wildlife photographers will be amazed by the pelicans, egrets, gulls, herons, ospreys and more, that inhabit these tranquil waters of Arnica Bay and Bay La Launch along Orange Beach and Gulf Shores AL.
Built in 1976, the Corsair is historically the cruise and shrimping vessel of the Gulf Coast. The history of the Corsair and her Captain date back to the days of Viking lore and the famous "White Winged Queens" of old. Captain Broussard's heritage of shipwrights goes back to his ancestry from Nova Scotia, and this legacy is fulfilled in the splendor of his impressive, hand-built wooden schooner. This dinner cruise will be the highlight of your vacation to the AL Gulf Coast whether on a memorable family adventure or a romantic getaway. Book your reservation today and be enthralled by the "Magic of the Corsair"!

Another Great Review for The Whale and Ale
Nightlife: Los Angeles Metro Area just released for 2007:
"Whale & Ale, The ZAGAT Ratings & Review

Order up some fish and chips, wash them down with a pint of cider and feel transported to the Thames via this classy bit of British in, of all places, San Pedro; sure, it is the only pub in the area, but many locals still assert its a wonderful place to meet your friends and hang out while playing darts, listening to the occasional live-music show or just chatting with the warm and friendly staff."
Viewable webpage by visiting Zagat, but you will need to be a member, I believe, to see that page.

Whale & Ale Recognized by Los Angeles Magazine
Whale and Ale has been recognized by Los Angeles Magazine at their annual "Best of LA" party at the Hyatt Regency in Century City.
The South Bay's only English Restaurant has been honored as a winner in the Best of LA 2007 awards.
This is a rare privilege, - as LA Magazine rarely ventures to the South Bay to find the best of Los Angeles.
I look upon this as a feather in the cap for San Pedro; it is not often that they find a business South of LAX that deserves recognition!
