Salmon Fishing Excursions on Klamath and Smith Rivers

Despite the recent ban on ocean salmon fishing along the California west coast, North Coast Rivers in and around Redwood National and State Parks offer extensive river salmon fishing

ORICK, Calif. - May 12, 2008 - Redwood Adventures Tours, a division of Redwood Parks Lodge Company, today announced it is offering salmon fishing tours on the Klamath and Smith rivers, in and around the Redwood National and State Parks.

"With the recent restrictions of ocean salmon fishing, Redwood Adventures Tours is gearing up for a busy river-fishing season on some of California's most pristine rivers," said Grant Roden, general manager for Redwood Adventures Tours. "In addition to the king salmon uniquely available in the Klamath and Trinity rivers, Trinidad is also the only spot in California where the ocean floor is shallow enough for rockfish anglers to bottom fish with little chance of catching the prohibited yellow eye and canary rockfish."

The Redwood Adventures Tour's salmon fishing packages are designed to help area visitors experience salmon fishing in a way that best meets their interests and skill levels. Each tour includes any necessary supplies including boat, tackle and bait, meals and expert guides to ensure a unique and safe experience.

The redwoods are awesome. One of my favorite excuses to get out of Eureka. Gotta say though, the local grapevine of us redwood lovers is buzzing that Loose Lips Sink Ships near Orick. Redwood Adventure you recommended, seems pretty darn liberal on their blog lately with stuff they are posting about some special trees. Not a lot, but just enough to be publishing stuff maybe they ought not be posting.
